Beat_Baschung__115Fish is our passion! Fish plays a starring role on our menu, which changes daily. However, our culinary repertoire also features a wealth of treats for meat lovers and vegetarians – our chef de cuisine surprises over and over again with his new compositions.

Gourmets are in for a treat with our chef Pierre Meyer. As chef at the -”Excelsior Hotel Ernst Köln”-, he was awarded 15 Gault Millau points. In Switzerland, he was responsible for the cuisine at the -”Golfhotel Saanenmöser”-. Since Autumn, Pierre Meyer is chef at the Restaurant Opera. His cuisine is regarded as highly creative, and in 2012 his culinary prowess earned him 14 Gault Millau points.

Awards

The “Goût Mieux” label, initiated by WWF Switzerland, confirms the first-class origin and preparation of the raw products used. Moreover, for ecological reasons, preference is given to local and regional producers.

The “Golden Fish” award is presented in recognition of outstanding fish cuisine. In particular, it pays tribute to the top-quality fish species from Switzerland’s rivers and lakes.

The Gault-Millau is one of the most popular restaurant Guides, named after the two journalists Henri Gault and Christian Millau, who founded the Gourmet Guide in 1969. We are proud that the cuisine of the Restaurant Opera is also rewarded with Gault-Millau points.
