We are particularly proud of our Golden Fish Award, conferred by the society
of patrons of fish cuisine, the "Tafelgesellschaft zum Goldenen Fisch". This
distinction is only given to kitchens for which cooking fish is nothing short
of a passion. For a number of years, our restaurant has been offering a sophisticated
choice of freshwater fish, which has proved to be extremely popular among our
guests. A standing ovation for our chef and his team!
The Seven Golden Rules for awarding the Golden Fish
The "Tafelgesellschaft zum Goldenen Fisch" regards it as an honour to bestow
this rare honour exclusively on those restaurants that are passionate about sophisticated
cuisine and attentive service. Guests to such establishments should literally
be able to feel the special ambience and the top quality of the preparation.
The Golden Fish award is only bestowed on restaurants that attach
particular importance to offering fresh, native fish.
The fish dishes must be served in a cultivated setting.
Besides standard variations, the selection of fish dishes should
encompass local specialities or specialities of the house.
The wine list should complement the fish dishes.
The cover should be correspondingly stylish to suit the various
fish dishes.
The prices of the dishes should be commensurate with the overall
services offered.
The service staff must be familiar with the "Tafelgesellschaft
zum Goldenen Fisch" and be able to advise guests competently
on the choice of specialities of the day, the origin of the fish
and the appropriate wines.
Discussed and unanimously resolved by the executive committee on 16
February 1983 in the venerable Haus zum Storchen in Zürich.
